2025 Recognition Awards - Winners

Thank you to everyone who attended our Recognition Awards celebration on Friday - what a fantastic night!

We would like to congratulate both the finalists and winners in each of our awards categories! Huge thanks as well go to the evening's presenters, including former winners, Board directors and Paddle Scotland staff.


The 2025 Award Winners are as follows:


  1. Volunteer of the Year (Willing Hands Quaich) - Chris Heaney
  2. Young Paddler of the Year - Scarlett Lee
  3. Andy Jackson Award - Jonathan Riddell
  4. Impact on Equality and Diversity - Jos Wallace
  5. Athlete of the Year - Gilbert Speirs
  6. Provider of the Year - Emy McLeod
  7. Event of the Year - Canoe Polo Scottish Open
  8. Club of the Year - Titans Canoe Club
  9. Coach of the Year - Georgina Maxwell
  10. Lifetime Service to the Sport - Margaret Chapman


In addition to the above awards, Paralympic medallist Hope Gordon gave a speech and was presented with the President's Award for Outstanding Achievement and Service to Paddlesport.


Paddle Scotland President Stewart Pitt also presented the Ed Eccleston Award for Services to Slalom in 2025 to Jim MacPherson.
