We are honoured to announce the finalists in the next category of the Recognition Awards: Lifetime Service to the Sport.
Another new category, this award recognises outstanding service, commitment and contribution to the sport over a number of years, at club, local, regional or national level. It may be awarded to any participant, coach or administrator in the sport.
Chris and Ken Baillie are nominated as the "stalwarts of Scottish Slalom" for over 30 years, having been the backbone of all events at Grandtully, managing the timing equipment, and ensuring Scottish views were represented on the Paddle UK Slalom committee.
Margaret Chapman is nominated for her heavy involvement in sprint and marathon paddling for over 40 years, serving on the Kirkcaldy Canoe Club board, and acting as the main organiser for numerous major events like the sprint events at Strathclyde Park and the Glasgow-Edinburgh race.
Ian & Tracy Sherrington are nominated for their decades of collaborative service, particularly for their instrumental role in shaping and facilitating surf kayak provision, from professional work on coach education to delivering Scottish, British, and International competitive events.
Finalists and winners will be celebrated on Friday 30 January - tickets are now available to join us for the
Recognition Awards celebration for £10/£30.
