Affiliating your club with Paddle Scotland shows that your club is committed to the delivery of high-quality paddlesport activity and is part of the wider network of support in Scotland.

Affiliating your club with Paddle Scotland also opens up avenues of development support from our dedicated staff team.


To affiliate, you’ll need to have:

  • appropriate policies in place
  • appropriate safeguarding processes
  • a club committee

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AFFILIATION?

Liability Insurance

Combined Liability insurance of up to £10 million including Public Liability insurance for recognised club activities, Employers Liability, Directors and Officers and Professional Indemnity insurance. Learn more about insurance from our provider Marsh.

Club Associate Membership

Insurance for club members who are not Full, Junior or Recreational Paddle Scotland Members during club activity, and access to selected events and competitions for these associate members.

Promotion of your club

Club listing and official recognition on the GoPaddling UK-wide club finder.

Safeguarding Advice

Safeguarding advice and Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check support for club volunteers or staff.

Support to organise events

Support to organise events sanctioned by Paddle Scotland - see the Event Planning process.

Access to free resources

Access to free resources, templates, training and eLearning for your club.

Subsidised courses

Subsidised courses including club development webinars and courses.

Application support - grants

Support for external grant applications.

Analytics & reports

Analytics and reports including access to data on club members.

support

We're here for you! Our dedicated staff are always on hand to offer advice and support including discipline-specific advice and qualifications support.

Club Volunteer celebration

Eligibility to attend our annual Club Volunteer Conference and share learning with members of other clubs across the country.

Use of the Paddle Scotland Affiliated Club logo - get in touch and we'll send this over. 

Club Associates

Any member of your club who is not a Paddle Scotland Full, Junior or Recreational member is classed as a Club Associate member. Associate members are only insured for club activity.


It is the responsibility of the Club Secretary to maintain the club membership list, including adding Club Associate membership for those who require it.


Club Affiliation Fees

Club Affiliation fees are calculated based on the number of Club Associates in your club. Club Associates are defined above. The total number of Full, Junior and Recreational members in your club does not have bearing on your affiliation fees.
