Paddle Scotland is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for a visionary, dynamic leader to lead our sport development and talent work and help shape the future of paddlesport across the country.
As the national governing body for paddlesport in Scotland, we support a thriving community of over 8,000 affiliated members, including 2,300+ qualified coaches and a network of clubs and partners. Our mission is to make paddling accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone - from grassroots participation to elite performance.
About the role
We have created a brand-new senior leadership position: Head of Sport. This is a rare opportunity for a strategic and people-focused leader who can drive progress across the sport, talent and workforce pathways while fostering a strong ‘one team’ culture.
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll:
- Work collaboratively with clubs, coaches, athletes, funders and partners across Scotland and the UK to grow and improve Paddlesport
- Provide strategic direction across sport development and talent programmes
- Lead and develop the sport team to deliver excellence and impact
- Strengthen the talent pathway and align resources to drive performance
About you
You’ll be an experienced leader, skilled at bringing people together and driving change. You’ll have a proven track record in sport development or performance environments, great people skills and a passion for creating opportunities through sport.

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum, DOE
Location: Hybrid working from EICA Ratho with travel across Scotland as required
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week), with evening and weekend work as required
