Applications open on 1st April 2025 for Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue Tutors

We are seeking experienced coaches or leaders to become Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue Tutors. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in equipping paddlers with the skills and knowledge to handle a range of safety and rescue situations in inland open water environments. 


What does the role involve?

  1. Delivering the Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue course. 
  2. Providing candidates with clear development plans. 
  3. Acting as an ambassador for Paddle Scotland and the British Canoeing Awarding Body. 
  4. Supporting the development of paddlers, coaches and leaders.
  5. Mentoring and supporting aspiring tutors. 

Who are we looking for?

  1. Experienced coach or leader with a passion for safety and rescue. 
  2. Individuals with a strong understanding of the Inland Open Water environment and relevant safety practices. 
  3. Excellent communication and teaching skills. 
  4. A commitment to supporting and developing others.

How do I become a Tutor?

The application window is open from 1st - 22nd April (0900). Successful applicants will be invited to an orientation event where you'll receive comprehensive guidance and support from experienced trainers.
