Over the weekend in Tacen, Slovenia, Sam Leaver won gold in Men's individual Kayak Cross in the first canoe slalom World Cup of the season.

Sam Leaver's brilliant kayak cross individual gold headlined a prolific final day for Great Britain at the Tacen World Cup.
The 21-year-old stormed to victory, finishing a full second ahead of Frenchman Mathurin Madore with a blistering run of 50.95 seconds, just one of three British medals.
It underlined Leaver's individual kayak cross credentials, as this victory at the first World Cup event of the season will go a long way to helping him retain his overall title in 2025.
He said: “I did a training session last night which wasn't the best, so Joe and I decided to do another one this morning.
“It went really well. The ramp is really important here in Tacen because it's a bit different from other events. I felt really confident going down after that ramp section and I got pretty good water through the run. One thing fed into the next and it all pieced together really well.
“I'm happy to take a win in a World Cup time trial. Last year I took home three medals but none of them were gold – I got pipped by little margins every time – but to win by about a second makes me really confident.”
Sam Leaver's sister, Lois, placed 18th and Nikita Setchell faulted on the second gate to upset her chances of mixing it at the top of the leaderboard.
In the afternoon, the kayak cross brought chaos and energy to Slovenia's waters.
Joe Clarke progressed through to the men's final thanks to his powerful fast starts, though a tricky navigation of the first gate in the final left him with a significant gap to the medals.
But it was one he recovered, passing Spain's David Llorente to take bronze, as Slovenian Ziga Lin Hocevar celebrated victory in front of the home support.
Sam Leaver was squeezed out in Clarke's semi-final but will still be overjoyed with his gold medal earlier in the day, while Ben Haylett missed out in the heats.
Woods also qualified for the final but was undone at the start by her three adversaries. Woods had enjoyed excellent starts in the heats, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, but just couldn't get ahead at the critical moment.
And Lois Leaver suffered a fault in her heat to miss out on the quarter-finals.
