Paddling with Pride 2025 - Event Report
Paddling with Pride 2025 – Our Fifth Year and Most Joyful Yet!
Our hearts are full, our spirits are topped up, and our paddles? Still slightly glittery. For the fifth year running, Paddling with Pride brought together an amazing crew of queer paddlers, coaches, and allies for a weekend in beautiful Perthshire that was absolutely bursting with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of river chaos.
From sunshine and splashes to midges (miraculously well-behaved!), this year’s weekend was the perfect mix of silliness, skill-building, and soul-nourishing connection. Whether you were conquering rapids, nailing the jump-stand-fall routine with flair, or just soaking in the views with new friends — this weekend was for you.
“I look forward to this weekend every year. It makes my heart glow to spend time on the water with people I love and make new friends.”
“It was my first time doing anything with paddle scot and I was immediately welcomed as if I had been there years, everyone was so lovely. I also managed to stand up on moving water and get between eddys after only a couple of times being on a SUP which was down to the fantastic coaching and feeling of safety.
“Everything about this weekend, from vibes to venue choice, creates the perfect environment to try new things – no matter your paddling experience.”
“Safety is about more than a paddle helmet, it’s trips like this that teach you it’s safe to be yourself and push yourself - because everyone around you is a friend that will celebrate with you every step of the way, and keep you safe."
“As a coach, I love seeing people grow friendships, skills and confidence. It’s such a happy, supportive weekend and puts a big smile on my face.”
Massive thanks to the LGBTQ+ Equality group for making this magic happen!
To everyone who joined us – thank you. Whether it was your fifth time or your first, YOU made this weekend unforgettable.
Until next year – paddle proud, paddle loud, and keep spreading that joyful aquabanter.
