We are delighted to announce that applications are open to join the SWPS 2027 Event Organising Committee.

The Scottish Women's Paddle Symposium (SWPS) is a Paddle Scotland event, first run in 2009 by a passionate group of volunteers. This annual event is designed for women paddlers to get together, improve their skills and have fun! The main aim of the weekend is to provide development opportunities, mentoring and inspiration to women who want to progress in paddlesport.
We are looking for a group of enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join the Organising Committee to take the event forward into 2027.
Why Join?
- Shape an inspiring event that supports and connects women who paddle.
- Contribute your skills - whether in organisation, communication, safety, logistics or creativity.
- Work alongside a passionate and dedicated team to help grow and connect the paddlesport community.
- Gain valuable skills by contributing to a large-scale, complex event.
We are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles. The event very much ‘belongs’ to the organising team, who meet once a month to forward plan, make decisions, task jobs etc. The team also take on tasks in-between meetings to help things move forward. Therefore, we ask that committee members can dedicate 2-4 hours per month between monthly committee meetings (online, approx. 2 hrs) and additional time as needed to complete agreed tasks.
No matter your background or experience, if you're motivated to support women in paddlesport and contribute to the organisation of this event, we'd love to hear from you.
