Rogart's Hope Gordon stormed to her first career gold in a kayak as Great Britain clinched four medals on the third day of the Brandenburg World Cup.

Britain’s final competitor of the day, Gordon lined up in the women’s KL3 200m against fierce finalists Nelia Barbosa of France and Felicia Laberer of Germany and stormed to gold.
The Scot, who has only ever triumphed in VL3 races before, edged her nose ahead at halfway and took the win in a time of 46.85 seconds to finally end her bronze and silver streak in the event.
“That is my first gold in kayak so it means a lot,” she said.
“A special shout out to Laura Sugar back home who I know will be watching. I’m making sure I keep that spot at the top nice and warm for GB."
Gordon is the reigning World Champion and Paralympic silver medallist in the VL3 which she will contest tomorrow.
The win marks the start of the Scot's LA campaign with the new Paralympic Qualification System now underway.
On the final day of the competition, Charlotte Henshaw and Hope Gordon once again returned to the podium with a brilliant British one-two in the women’s VL3 200m.
The training partners have been trading places in the event for the past few major championships, with Henshaw claiming the Paris 2024 Paralympic title but being forced to settle for silver against Gordon at the 2025 World champs in Milan.
This time round, Henshaw was not letting gold out of her sights again, claiming a convincing win in a time of 1:01.74 to take her second gold of the Brandenburg World Cup.
Gordon saw a bit of difficulty in the middle of the race but held on to take the silver in 1:04.83 as Erica Scarff of Canada completed the podium.
“I was a great race,” said Henshaw. “I always know it will be when I line up next to that lady [Hope].
“Those former swimmer shoulders help us out in those tough conditions and it has been tough wind this whole four days.
“But it’s good for us to practice because you have to race what you get given on the day.
“The VL3 for me for the moment is kind of a fun event as my job is in the kayak at the moment so it was about enjoying it.”
