Portencross Castle Harbour, apart from being a scheduled ancient monument, is also a very popular launch point for paddlers heading for Bute, Arran & the Cumbraes.
Parking at Stanley, which was temporarily suspended earlier this month, has been restored on a temporary basis while Paddle Scotland works with the landowner to come up with a long term plan.
Paddle Scotland has teamed up with Paddle UK and the RNLI to deliver five key messages to stay safe on the water.
The car park at Stanley beach is temporarily closed. Please do not attempt to access it. Parking is available in the village and the river is accessible as normal (thanks to the right of responsible access). Paddle Scotland and the landowner have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday 24 June after which we will be able to provide a further update.
