Portencross Castle Harbour Access
18 August 2025

Portencross Castle Harbour, apart from being a scheduled ancient monument, is also a very popular launch point for paddlers heading for Bute, Arran & the Cumbraes.

Please note that the lane leading to the castle harbour and the harbour itself is privately owned. The lane also serves a private driveway.

Vehicle access to the harbour is not permitted. Kayakers are usually welcome to launch from the castle harbour, but are asked to carry or trolley their kayaks from the public car park.
