Restrictions in Stonehaven Harbour

SCA has received a notification from HM Coastguard and Stonehaven Harbourmaster regarding restrictions on Paddleboarding
- Instructions given by the Harbourmaster must be complied with at all times.
- As per the blue marked area of attached plan, paddleboarding is permitted in the Botany Bay area of the Harbour.
- As per the red hatched area of the attached plan, paddleboarding is not permitted in the Navigation Channel, entrance to the Middle harbour, along the side of the Net Pier, the Inner Harbour or the Outer Harbour.
- Planned paddleboarding operations should be communicated daily to the Harbourmaster.
- As per the attached plan, paddleboarders travelling to the South should stay in close to the cliffs to keep clear of the Navigation Channel.
- As per the attached plan, paddleboarders travelling to the North should cross the Navigation Channel at 90 degrees when clear of vessels.
- If sea conditions are not suitable in the Botany Bay area, it may be possible to utilise the Middle Harbour area on the following conditions:
- Permission must be received in writing from the Harbourmaster on each occasion.
- It is not permitted to paddleboard in the red hatched areas within the Middle Harbour marked in the attached plan.
- Access/egress is from the slipway.
- Paddleboards must be transported to/from the Middle Harbour/Botany Bay area along Shorehead.
- Paddleboarding between the Middle Harbour and Botany Bay is not permitted.

Mental Health First Aid Training - 20th May 2024 at Glenmore Lodge AWARD IN FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH AT SCQF LEVEL 5 (1 day course) We are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to complete Mental Health First Aid Training at Glenmore Lodge Monday 20th May 0830 - 1730. This will be run by Noush Duffy and Mo Samson - two experienced paddlesport coaches, Mental Health First Aid trainers and part of the Paddle Scotland Equality Groups. This Paddle Scotland course is being offered at the subsidised rate of £75 (inc. lunch and refreshments for the day). Bookings close 5 May . We are passionate about supporting paddlesport coaches to increase knowledge in this area so you can better support the people you work with. We'd love it if you could attend. We have two upcoming training opportunities for coaches wanting to become a provider of the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course.
Spaces are available to book for the All Ability session at the 2024 Scottish Women's Paddle Symposium, which will take place 17-19 May 2024 at Glenmore Lodge in Aviemore.
