Joint Statement on Slalom in Scotland

November 25, 2024

Paddle Scotland and the Scottish Slalom Community are proud of our past and present successes in the sport of Canoe Slalom & Kayak Cross, with multiple Olympic and World Championship medals.

Having resolved our recent differences, we are determined to work together to jointly develop our discipline upon a foundation of mutual respect, support and encouragement.

We jointly recognise and agree that Grandtully, as a national performance and competition venue, has been and will continue to be fundamental to the further development of the sport.

To this end, we will work collaboratively to develop Grandtully as a key slalom venue, and to support the work of the Slalom Development Group, breaking down barriers to participation, ensuring accessibility for all and maximising success on a national and global stage.
