2024 Recognition Awards - Young Volunteer Award

December 6, 2024

Congratulations to Ava Barton, this year's recipient of the Young Volunteer Award at the Paddle Scotland Recognition Awards.

This award recognises a young person who commits time and effort to their club, centre or community throughout the year in one or more unpaid roles. The nominee could be a young person who volunteers behind the scenes or maybe they have made a successful step on a coaching/leadership pathway.

Congratulations to our winner Ava Barton! Ava is a Paddle Scotland Young Ambassador and a volunteer at Carse Canoe Club as well as a member of the Young Person Equality Group and has helped on the Scottish Women’s Paddle Symposium organising committee as well. Ava started paddling when she was 8 and is incredibly accomplished for being only 16 now - what an inspiration!

Congratulations Ava - everyone is excited to follow your paddlesport journey!
