Updated Phase 2 Paddlesport Guidance

Following the First Minister’s announcement on 2nd July about the further easing of the lockdown, the SCA has updated and republished Phase 2 Paddlesport Guidance. The amended sections are shown in highlighted text.

The key changes that take effect on 3rd July are:
  • Lifting of the 5 mile limit on travel for leisure and exercise (except were local clusters of virus cases have been identified and notified)
  • Customer toilets may reopen, subject to meeting government guidance for their operation
  • Updated guidance on group composition for young people

Updated Phase 2 Guidance

This change to Phase 2 guidance permits overnight stays, limited to self-contained accommodation e.g. motorhomes and caravans, where users have access to toilet and bathroom facilities which are not shared outside of their household. Bookings need to be made in advance so numbers can be managed and physical distancing maintained. The Scottish Government guidance does not permit camping in tents, either at campsites or in the wild.

We all care about Scotland’s countryside and want to enjoy it. We need to give those who are responsible for managing it time to safely re-open facilities.

Yours in Padding,

SCA
